Dmitry Skachkov, Director

Dr. Dmitry Skachkov received his PhD in Physics and Mathematics from M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University. He held postdoctoral positions at the University of Calgary with Dr. Tom Ziegler, where he developed methods implemented in the Amsterdam Modeling Suite, and at the University of Puerto Rico with Dr. Yasuyuki Ishikawa, where he applied first-principles molecular dynamics to study ammonia oxidation reactions on Pt surfaces in fuel cells. As a Research Associate at Case Western Reserve University, he developed methods to study defects in condensed matter physics. At the Center for Molecular Magnetic Quantum Materials, he studied single-molecule magnets and developed a physics-based Schottky barrier model implemented in the open-source SB code. He is currently an Adjunct Research Scientist at the University of Central Florida, focusing on theoretical and computational methods for nonlinear optical phenomena.
