The Delta Science Institute hereby recognizes Jianghai Wang for the successful completion of the DFT Dragon Challenge, demonstrating a high level of competence in computational quantum physics and electronic structure theory.
As part of this work, the student independently developed and analyzed a complete density functional theory (DFT) implementation from the ground up, including the construction of the self-consistent field (SCF) cycle and the stabilization of iterative convergence. The project required a deep understanding of the theoretical foundations of DFT, careful numerical implementation, and the ability to diagnose and resolve convergence and stability issues inherent to self-consistent quantum calculations.
The student demonstrated strong command of quantum mechanical principles, numerical methods, and scientific programming, successfully translating theoretical concepts into a working and reliable computational framework. This achievement reflects both technical proficiency and conceptual maturity, extending beyond routine usage of existing software packages.
We congratulate Jianghai Wang on this accomplishment and wish him continued success in his future research and professional endeavors.
